Hey you,
When they say dare to dream, they really mean, “dreams are hard work.” Which means we achieve the ones that are 100% worth it to us, because those are the ones we sacrifice to realize.
Huh.

Hey,
Is minimalism for you? Here’s a dream-inspired rant that I went on after reading an article about how successful people wear “uniforms.” The air quotes might tell you a little something about my feeling on the matter, but read on if you wish.
Sassy today,

Hey you,
Many Americans dress perhaps too casually, if there is such a thing, verging into frump-land. I found myself going a little far the other direction and dressing too formally for my lifestyle.
So I made a wild leap… :D You may read further by clicking below, if you so desire.

Hey you,
It’s become a tradition to record my favorite moments in new locations as I go. When I get home to review it’s like getting a replay on my favorite moments of the trip. It’s always special.
Love,
L. Raine
Hi you,
It’s my birthday! To celebrate I’m giving away a leather, feather necklace made my Striped Pineapple Studio.
Be honored to have you join,

Hi you,
Dining with friends is one of my greatest pleasures, but dining alone (after this trip) has assumed a glow of interacting with people around me, or finding the freedom to savor a book and thought. Being alone tends to show us things about ourselves.
Do try it sometime, or if not, read the story of my experience.

Hi you,
I made a foray into the world of traveling by one’s lonesome. Conclusion, it’s more fun with friends but you interact with a location more by yourself. Different trip, equally rewarding.
With some lovely seafood.
Part one,
L. Raine
Hi you,
Most people in my current life don’t know this, but I used to be what Mr. Gilbreth and myself found so offensive to be called: plump. Losing the extra sent me on a roller coaster of mind, body, emotions and spirituality.
And throughout, the fat girl cried.
And changed.
And wrote about it.

Hi you,
Sometimes I spend a cringe-worthy amount of money for my hair and face, and then sometimes my favorite products range in under $10. Like this amazing oil that works so well as a moisturizer while taking about five years off one’s face. Well, maybe four, but it is wonderful. I love being able to find things like that to balance costs for things like professional haircuts.
Basically the best beauty hack I’ve ever tried.

Hi you,
My hardest lesson was to lay aside everything about myself and where I wanted life to go, and open my heart to what I found in places that shook my self-confidence to its core. Those doubts led me to lose everything, to find out what I was really worth as a person.

Hi you,
I expect what will always stay with met about Paris is the way that they turn even their food into a romantic experience, full of wonder and feeling and beauty.
I’ll probably always miss this city,

Hi you,
Do you get tired of the endless round of doing, action, hustle and dreaming of dreams and setting goals? This morning, I woke up exhausted and knew I had to write out the struggle so I could understand why I was waking up as mentally tired as when I went to bed.
As it so often does, writing gave me the perspective I needed to find the true problem.
If you are tired too, please join me through the link below.

Hi you,
Yup, the reports you heard (or probably didn’t) are true. Instagram and I broke up for a little while. It’s a relationship I’ll probably keep, but this space has been giving me back my life.
More through here,
L. Raine
Hi you,
The other day as I sat in a room full of people the muted roar of talking suddenly became the ocean to me, with its ebb and flow, power, and potential to open majestic worlds for us to explore.
It made me see conversation in a new way, kind of as a vast frontier to be explored, and has made me so happy to be alive with the power of being able to communicate. It’s incredible to be human.
Counting my blessings,
L. Raine
Hi you,
I’ve been learning a lot about how to let the loneliness serve me, how to let the spaces and lapses that life inevitably holds teach me about identity.
We all wonder who we really are, deep down inside.
At least I do,
L. Raine
